Despacito, a song by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi along with Daddy Yankee was released in the year 2017. It became the number streamed song at the moment within just six months. It was a blend of reggaeton and pop music which not only brought attention to Latin music but also reggaeton. The Billboard Top 100 featured two songs in Spanish mostly, and four songs in the year 2016. But during the peak of Despacito's fame in 2017 there were 19 mostly Spanish songs that were included in the Top 100. And in 2020 it was 41. Justin Bieber re-mixed Despacito with a Spanish version in 2017. In the year following, famous artists started working together with reggaeton groups. Drake teamed with Bad Bunny for the production of MIA (2018) as well as Madonna was a part of Medellin together with Maluma (2019). By 2020 a few reggaeton performers were lamenting their genre's shift towards the mainstream. However, a younger generation of performers, including Rauw Alejandro, aimed to continue the evolution of reggaeton. He incorporated electronic dance styles and others into his music.
