Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is an American producer stage and screen actress, best recognized for her roles in films in Ray Undercover Brother and on the TV show The Mentalist. She is a graduate of the BA in African-American Studies and an MFA from the Tisch School of the Arts New York University. Aunjanue Lisa Ellis is a producer and American actor who is active in theater as well as television and film. Her stage debut was in the year 2000 before appearing in mainstream, independent and television series. Her most well-known roles were in the role of Miranda Shaw (ABC's Quantico) and on BET's epic The Book of Negroes. The series both received praise from critics, and she also won a lot of awards. In 1995, she was the first to appear as Ariel on the stage in The Tempest. On Broadway, she has appeared in Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Seeking the Genesis and Joe Turner's Come and Gone. Film-wise her most well-known roles are performances such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express or The Help. In her television work, she's been recognized for her part in the role of a character who is a regular on ABC's police drama High Incident.
