Rodrigo Alves, a Brazilian father and mother, was Rodrigo Alves when Alves was 30 July 1983, in Sao Paulo. Roserval Alves (her father) is from Portugal, and he arrived in Brazil in 1944. The family started out in agriculture, and later expanded to retail and shopping centers. 5 When she was small, her grandfather purchased his daughter Barbie dolls. Although Alves was identified as a male at birth, but from "the the age of 3 to four, five and six" she considered herself to have a female gender, and she had dolls, and was cross-dressed. She believes that gender should not define the person. As a child, she was shy and bullied. Alves was a victim of hormone imbalance in her teens. She had too much estrogen, which caused her breast tissue as well as other body parts to increase. Bullies also targeted her other characteristics. Alves was born into a family that owns several stores of groceries in Brazil. They've been wealthy for many years, however they still don't make a dime from the grocery stores. Alves immigrated to London when she was just 18, and studied public relations at London's London College of Communication. Alves has inherited funds from her maternal grandparents.
